About UnitingCare lifeAssist
lifeAssist is one of the 22 founding agencies of Uniting (Victoria and Tasmania).
From July 1, 2017 we will become Uniting.
Uniting is a new community services arm of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania.
Uniting is the coming together of 22 UnitingCare agencies and two church business units - Uniting for greater change.
As one organisation, we can prepare for current and future changes in the community services sector. We will have access to broader resources and be able to reach and support more local communities across Victoria and Tasmania.
We will remain as active as ever in your local community and are committed to delivering the same quality of services.
To inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.
- Imaginative - We challenge convention, explore new possibilities and dare to dream for a better future
- Respectful - We act with honesty and integrity, and open our hearts to all people without exception
- Compassionate - We are nurturing, generous and thoughtful in our words and deeds
- Bold - We face injustice head-on and stand up for what is right and true with confidence and strength.
UnitingCare lifeAssist has been assisting vulnerable and disadvantaged people, as well as their carers and families, in Victoria since 1987.
We provide government-funded and self-funded services throughout metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and some regional Victorian locations.
We assist over 4500 people annually through government-funded programs and countless more through either referral or self-funded services.
What we do
We assist our clients to achieve their goals and to live the life they choose. We help clients to live happily and productively in the familiar surroundings of their own homes and communities. We are committed to service excellence and are internationally accredited to the ISO 9001:2008 set of quality management standards.
We also acknowledge that at some stage in life potentially everyone will feel vulnerable. Often this is because of some unexpected crisis or change in circumstance which can leave people feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to turn for help.
We help provide the most appropriate support, whether free, government-funded or self-funded services, to anyone who needs assistance either for themselves or for someone close.UnitingCare lifeAssist acknowledges the First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. We pay respect to the elders of the community and extend our recognition to their descendants.
